RAID days are numbered and it is more and more obvious that distributed parallel storage systems are the future. In 2014 at Libre Solutions Pty Ltd we were evaluating Ceph for 11 months and reached conclusion that Ceph is utterly unsuitable for data storage due to numerous problems and design flaws that make it unreliable. More details to follow. As for now we advise not to use Ceph and we will refrain from deploying new Ceph systems from now on.

We will continue to use our experience with Ceph to support existing Ceph clusters and assist in migration from Ceph to superiour storage solutions such as LizardFS and GfarmFS.
